An established and reputable construction contractor with a strong regional presence is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to join their expanding team in Manchester. The company operates across a range of sectors, building and refurbishing commercial, industrial, education, and healthcare facilities. With a secured pipeline of work in the local area spanning the next four years, this role offers stability and the chance to contribute to a variety of interesting projects.

The initial project will be a 14-month refurbishment of an education facility located in Manchester due to soft launch in June.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Managing and coordinating site teams, including direct labour, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, including progress reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Liaising effectively with clients, stakeholders, and the project management team.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving any site-related issues.
  • Ensuring the quality of workmanship meets the required standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally with a strong track record in delivering similar new build or refurbishment projects.
  • A thorough understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage and motivate site teams effectively.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS).
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach.

Benefits:

  • Base salary ranging from £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
  • Car allowance of £4,500 per annum.
