Senior Health & Safety Advisor
Location: Derby Office - Hybrid working available
Salary: Up to £58,000 per annum

We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, an integrated design and delivery solution provider within the water sector.
They are looking to further build the quality of their SHEQ team with an experienced Senior H&S Advisor working on one of their major infrastructure projects in the East Midlands region.
The successful candidate will fully embed themselves within the site management team, working closely with contractors and client to promote a safe working environment, reduce accidents and further build on the culture of health and safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively drive safety culture, engaging with contractors, subcontractors, and all key stakeholders.
- Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls, which will help reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture.
- Work closely with the project director, construction teams, contractors and external bodies to integrate health and safety into the project workflow.
- Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
- Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
- Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
- Trending and analysis of key performance data.
- Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.
About You
- Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
- Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
- Ability to interpret legislation and approved codes of Practise.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communicator who's comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
- Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escalate issues or concerns.
- Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
