Quantity Surveyor

Linsco are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a client of ours in the Suffolk area, working as part their project team on a high-profile maintenance contract. This is a fixed term, full-time role working 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimating functions;
    • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities in liaison with the Building Surveyor.
    • Produce Rough order Cost (RoC) where requested by the client for a project.
    • Submit firm price to client and associated documents following the tender adjudication process with the Pre-contract team .
    • Produce Gate documents to detail the commercial aspects of the projects for internal governance purposes.
  • Sub-contractor Procurement;
    • Send out tender enquiries to sub-contractors in liaison with the procurement department based on suitability to carry out the project
    • Undertake quote analysis to ensure the quotes received are compliant to the Scope of Works for the project.
    • Raise Purchase orders on Coupa and draft the Sub-contract documents for signing.
  • Surveying duties;
    • Monitor works onsite and liaise with Site supervisors to ensure timely applications for completed milestones on all projects.
    • Price variations in compliance with the contract and ensure all documents are included in the submission.
    • Monitor costs and update Financial Control Document each month.
    • Assess sub-contractor valuations and issue payment notices in line with the order and agree final accounts.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS),
  • Good knowledge and experience in FM management
  • Establish and maintain good customer/client relations to ensure effective delivery and quality of work.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and fluidly.
  • Strong interpersonal facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrate good time management skills and working to deadlines.
