Project Quantity Surveyor

Coventry

Summary:

Linsco are currently recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor who has vast experience in procuring both sub-contractors and materials, for a client of ours in the Coventry area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with supply chain to be able to drive the best value.
  • Be commercially astute and able to critically analyse quotes to obtain like for like comparisons.
  • Able to work on several projects at a time and deliver to tight timescales.
  • Work with the Technical & Procurement Director forecasting procurement needs.
  • Working with Designers and Operations team to produce product specifications for existing sites and new builds.
  • Build and develop relationships with key manufacturers/suppliers and service providers in the building / construction sector.
  • Secure manufacturers for products at varying costs and quantities.
  • Obtain best import and agency terms with our manufacturers/suppliers.
  • Obtain best credit facilities, terms of payments and profit margins with our manufacturers/suppliers.
  • Closely watch and monitor our competitors' prices and product list.
  • Perform market surveys on our competitors' prices, discount rates and products every quarter

Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience of working within a surveying/procurement role within the construction sector, ideally for a construction consultancy.
  • Ideally a Degree in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
  • Previous experience working on multi occupancy residential and accommodation would be an advantage but not essential
  • Highly organised with a logical approach
  • Be a team player and able to train and support others
  • Project & time management with close attention to detail
  • Able to follow current processes but continually looking for ways to improve them
  • Excellent relationship builder and able to influence
  • Ability to communicate proficiently both in writing and orally - particularly on the telephone
  • Can work under pressure in a calm and thoughtful way
