Design Co-Ordinator

Lincoln

£35k- £55k per annum (DOE)

Focuses on major contracts with a value of £500k to £20m, for a range of clients.
Working on a variety of construction projects in the affordable housing, industrial and commercial sectors, with responsibility of managing the design process, ensuring compliance and maximising value engineering opportunities at both tender and construction phases.
Design co-ordination experience is essential. Experience with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit and knowledge of SAP, SBEM and BREEAM would be an advantage. Job Runners with site experience from Architectural and Engineering background will also be considered.

Core Responsibilities -

  • Ensuring the Design is in compliance with...
    • Employers Requirements.
    • Contractors Proposals.
    • Building Regulations.
    • SAP / SBEM.
    • NHBC or other warranty bodies.

Ensuring design responsibility remains with the professional designers.

  • Clash detection
  • Understand the Contract documents
  • Identify errors / omissions / conflict within the documents, missing information and any standards referred to in the document
  • Ensure the project team understands the standards and tolerances we are contracted to achieve.
  • Check that standards / tolerances are compatible and achievable, ensure Sub Contractors and suppliers are aware of the requirements and that the design & installation is capable of being in accordance with the required standards
  • Assist the team in identifying and recording project risks e.g. unusual materials, standards referred to in ER's, tolerances, interfaces between materials & trades.
  • Assisting the Project Team in the selection of a suitably experienced Design Team.
  • Assisting the Project Team in the selection of suitably experienced Sub Contractors.
  • Chairing and Minuting Design Team Meetings throughout the duration of the project.
  • To Manage the drawing review process.
  • Ensuring the production & distribution of project design information is managed in accordance with the Information required schedule, construction programme and procurement schedule.
  • To collate and distribute any information as required by external consultants
  • Look for opportunity to maximise the potential profitability & minimise risk
