Assistant Cleaning Manager


Up to £22,000

Summary of Role:

Manage the cleaning service to ensure that the operational delivery of the cleaning is in accordance with the Service Delivery Plan and Health and Safety Practices

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Operational performance and cost control responsibility for their associated sites and teams.
  • Ensure the requirements of the company Health, Safety and Environmental policies are fully understood and implemented.
  • Drive efficiency by organising human resources on their sites and liaising with other Assistant Cleaning Managers to optimise resource utilisation across the three regions.
  • Identify, manage and reduce all unnecessary costs and inefficient activities, ensuring business risks are clearly identified and controlled.
  • Promote the development of team members and actively encourage effective relationships.
  • Recruitment, Induction and training of new cleaners
  • Management of cleaners and cleaning supervisors
  • Delivery of all scheduled cleaning hours
  • Management of absence and holidays of cleaners arranging cover as necessary through the use of the Ezi-tracker system
  • Liaise with HR and payroll departments regarding overtime payments and deductions for non- attendance
  • Timely ordering of cleaning and washroom consumables (toilet rolls, hand towels, soap, detergents, cleaning cloths etc.)
  • Timely ordering of cleaning equipment
  • Effective and efficient stock control
  • PAT testing of cleaning equipment
  • Support and oversee the performance of cleaners and cleaning supervisors
  • Agree format of monthly cleaning report in accordance with Cleaning Service Delivery Plan
  • Produce monthly cleaning reports and issue to Regional Facilities Managers
  • Provide Reward and Recognition nominations for cleaners and submit to RFMs for consideration
  • Complete cleaning audits in accordance with the Service Delivery Plan
  • Carry out one to one meetings with cleaners and cleaning supervisors (formal and informal)
  • Ensure safety is at the forefront of everything you do and provide strong, visible safety leadership
  • Understand and implement safety, health and environmental responsibilities in accordance with H&S and Environmental Policy Documents (available on intranet)
  • Ensure all accidents are reported
  • Understand and implement all relevant Minimum Safety Standards (MSS)
  • Promote the use of the Close Calls and Positive Interventions App or the use of the CC&PI cards
  • Report all Close Calls and Positive Interventions
  • Assist management of KPIs in accordance with the KPI Schedule

DBS Enhanced - NPPV from Lincolnshire Police will be carried out prior to offer being made.
