CSCS Policy 2011
Linsco Ltd actively promotes the Construction Skills Certification Scheme by ensuring that all construction workers are educated about the scheme and offered the opportunity to gain the qualifications.
As part of our commitment to Health & Safety we aim to have 100% of our “regular” temporary construction workforce registered for the scheme.
Due to the nature of our business we have a very fast paced changeable workforce and aim to have over 90% of our regular workforce registered with the scheme and ensure that 100% are educated and given the opportunity to register when starting work for Linsco Ltd.
Linsco Ltd regularly advertise the fact that we have a CSCS scheme in operation in the local press and internet and see it as a benefit for all potential employees.
All our specialist Construction Consultants receive regular training and sit a Health & Safety test to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge to promote the scheme.
Linsco Ltd regularly audit and review our CSCS registration scheme and to ensure that we adhere to our policy.
PLATINUM AWARD
Our latest Audit completed in February 2010 shows that we have over 90% of our current workforce with CSCS cards, considering that some of our workforce are outside of construction we feel that this is a high level of achievement which has been recognised by the CITB, and we have been awarded the Platinum Award Certificate of Commitment to CSCS in recognition of this. Health & Safety
It is the firm policy of Linsco Ltd to take all practicable steps to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all employees. Linsco will provide adequate and proper facilities to safeguard the health and safety of employees and will maintain close co-operation with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other persons as appropriate to reduce inherent risks to an absolute minimum. Employees will be encouraged to co-operate with the management of the Company in the promotion of the safety policy and of the Company safety rules.
The Benefits
The scheme aims to enable an accurate record of workers in the construction industry who have achieved a recognised level of competence to be kept and provides a means of identification. Importantly it also raises the standards of health and safety to reduce risks of accidents throughout the industry.
The scheme can benefit the individual by providing them with recognition of skills, competence and qualifications. It will improve their health and safety awareness and improve their employment prospects. It is also a way of identifying training needs to improve and update employee skills.
