Charity Events Year

Linsco had a very successful launch evening of their "Charity Events Year" that started with the opening night on 25th May at the night at Cafe Del Bar in the Lace Market. Over 1000 was raised, so a big "Thank You" to all who attended and to those companies that donated prizes to the raffle including CET Technology, Michael Barnes Printers and Interflora.

Jeff Elliott, Chairman says "The launch party was a great success and was attended by over 150 guests. Throughout the next 12 months we have various events arranged ending with a Charity Ball at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on Saturday 24 May 2008, which will also be Linscos 30th birthday! Tickets will be available towards the end of the year"

Chris Lee , Managing Director is in serious training for his sponsored bicycle ride across Cambodia and Vietnam in November. He will be covering over 500 kilometres and we are looking for companies to buy advertising space on his tour jersey. Every penny raised by this will go direct into the appeal fund as Linsco are covering the cost of the trip.

Advertising on this jersey could bring instant international recognition for your company and increase your international sales by 50%, however this is not guaranteed but it will make you feel good!!! All persons taking jersey sponsorship (26 maximum) will be entered into a draw; the winner will get a meal for four at Bentons brasserie in Nottingham. If you wish to sponsor this event or find out more please click here

East Midlands Apprenticeships Awards 2007

Linsco were recently nominated for the East Midlands Apprenticeships Awards 2007 and were picked as one of the finalists. They were nominated by their training provider Prostart Training for their commitment to the NVQ scheme over the last year, specifically Administration and Customer Service NVQ's. Linsco believe that training and developing all employees is key to their success and the NVQ scheme enables their employees to improve their skill base as well as to gain relevant vocational qualifications. Unfortunately Linsco did not go through to the regional awards this year but their HR Manager and Administration Team Leader attended the Awards Ceremony at Leicester Football Stadium on the companies behalf.

Dominic has been a fantastic team member, he works well without supervision and is very flexible within this workload. He always helps out when and where he can and has been brilliant with new members of staff; training them and making them feel welcome. We have had many emails from customers with praise for Dominic and we could not have asked for more commitment and hard work from him."

July 2006

TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTHI would like to put Jane Price forward for the Temp of the Month Award as she has taken working for our company in her stride.  She has implemented procedures for filing and administration with the up most professionalism and efficiency.

She has taken to our procedures very well and within her first 4 weeks she actually won a quiz which covered health and safety issues around our company, which is very embarrassing considering some people have been with our company for years! Jane has become a valued member of the team and displays a friendly, considerate image to all visitors to our office. She undertakes much more than her job description ever covered and we hope she realises that we appreciate all of her hard work!!

June 2006 - Coventry

TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTHDuring Val's stay with us we've found her to be a real team player.

Positive attitude, no job to daunting and always willing to lend a hand in whatever capacity she is required and her sense of humour is second to none.

June 2006 - Nottingham

TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTHLiz has worked on a number of temporary contracts for us since March 2006 and has received glowing reports on every one. She started at working on a long term temporary contract with a major client of ours and has already become a valuable member of their team.

"Just a quick note regarding how well Liz has settled into the role as site secretary on site. She is always on time and reliable, whilst also working long hours when needed, to keep up with a heavy work load. She never complains when things are given to her, even when she has loads on already, she just gets on with things and manages her time well.

She has also implemented a few new filing and admin procedures, which has help information flow in the office. Liz has also been very helpful with keeping the site office stocked with office supplies, and doing things beyond her role, with regards to the outgoing post and confectionary items.

Liz is a credit to Linsco and we are very impressed with how she has settled in. I just hope that she is as happy here, as we are with having her here"

May 2006

TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH"Lauren is settling into her new roll very well. Our large variety of products means we have a fairly complex order processing system and Lauren is already showing positive signs of dealing with this with confidence.

She is now taking live phone calls and managing for the most part to deal with customer demand unaided. Lauren also exhibits a lively and open personality which has allowed her to mix well with her new colleagues and is ideally suited to customer service.

We are optimistic that she will continue to build on this starting point to become a valued team member".
